Bookcases full of high school annuals from Big Stone
Gap, East Stone Gap, Powell Valley, Appalachia, and
Norton occupy two walls of the room. Records
related to local genealogy and contributions from
individuals interested in preserving their family
history are in bookcases along another wall.
One bookcase contains albums of photos taken by
George Dalton. George's photographs cover
years from the 1950's thru the 1990's. If
there was an event taking place in Wise County area,
George was there with his camera. Several
books used to educate our children through the year
are also in the room and provide a mirror in the
past. Historical photographs of towns and coal
camps decorate the walls.
